I know 216570 has the ruggedness and that's so attractive to wear daily instead of blingy bracelets. One thing I can suggest is to request the dealer to size the bracelet and let you try the 216570. That'll be the 'right' way to test it out. To me, 216570 is better in every way, except that it is too big. The maxi dial, larger hands, orange 24 hour hand, and improved bracelet and clasp are nice improvements over the 16570. I have a 6.5" wrist and the 216570 is too big for me.
I will admit that 42mm is close to the minimum size I can pull off, but I really think the 216570 is perfectly situated and modest on a large wrist. These images are for the big boys who are doing research on such a watch, how it might fit etc. Rolex stopped producing the 16570 in 2011. Its successor, which debuted that year and celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Explorer II, got the reference number 216570. With its 42mm Maxi case, it’s just too big for my taste.
